His great-grandfather\, Grand Master Tung Ying Jie\, was for many years the national champion of China. Tung Ying Jie was a leading disciple of Yang Cheng-Fu\, the main proponent of the modern Yang Long Form. \nThe focus of this workshop will be on Tai Chi principles. \nThis workshop is for everyone – beginners through advanced practitioners. \nWhile we will be covering the entire form\, the focus is not on learning specific moves. The focus will be on learning how incorporating the Tai Chi principles throughout the form makes all the moves more efficient and effective. \nThe usual rationalization for not attending is: “I’m such a beginner\, most of it won’t apply to me.” \nBut the benefits are far and away more than just picking up two new moves. When you understand the principles behind the moves\, they apply throughout the form\, and your entire form benefits. \nThe other thing you gain is the inspiration and motivation to continue your practice in a more meaningful way. \nI went to my first workshop only two months into my Tai Chi training. During the workshop\, I decided\, then and there\, that I was going to pour my energy into learning to be the best Tai Chi practitioner I could be\, until I could do the magic I was looking at.
