This program was developed by Dr. Paul Lam who modified the Sun family style of Tai Chi by removing strenuous and risky moves and replacing them with movements more effective for health. The result is a program that is proven in scientific studies to diminish pain, increase muscle strength, extend range of motion, and improve overall health. The integration of mind/body movement with slow continuous movements reduces stress and relaxes both the body and the mind. Throughout the exercises, there is a focus on weight transference which improves balance and reduces falls. Once you learn this form, you can practice at home. All you need is enough room to take a few steps forward and back, left and right. No special uniform other than low, comfortable shoes. No special equipment. Tai Chi has no adverse side effects and no impact on any medicinal regimen. Steve Elliott has been studying Tai Chi for over 39 years and teaching for over 17 years. He is certified by Dr. Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute to teach Tai Chi for Fall Prevention.
